Kyle and I ventured out to Marfa for our 2 year anniversary to soak up the big West Texas skies & sleep in a teepee! Out of all of the crazy places we’ve traveled, this trip was one of our favorites. There is something about removing yourself from your everyday environment that allows your to re-focus and allows yourself to be inspired by your surroundings. Marfa was a dream.
Our list of recommendations is below:
Stellina - Incredible wine and tapas selection. Perfect dinner out, will definitely return. Get a bottle of the Savignon Blanc from Baja, the cauliflower, cassava cakes, kale salad and bread and butter.
Al Campo - Literally had the best queso of my life here. And that my friends, is high praise.
The Sentinel Marfa - Beautiful new co-working spot serving food, cofee and cocktails. This is where we worked from during the week.
The Water Stop - A fantastic new restaurant with a nice outdoor patio. This was some of the best food we had in Marfa for sure.
Convenience West - Fantastic BBQ. Get the brisket!
Planet Marfa - Really great gyros (cash only)
The Capri - New restaurant across the street from Thunderbird Motel (they were closed for the week while we were there but next time in town I plan to check it out)!
Frama - Coffee, smoothies, acai bowls, ice cream
Esperanza Vintage - A small vintage store with incredible finds. Thoughtfully curated selection of vintage clothing, jewelry, home goods, etc. I bought a gorgeous blue lapis necklace. The store owner was so personable and extremely knowledgable about each piece in her store.
RABA - Situated next door to The Water Stop, this new boutique is easily one of my favorite shops in Marfa.
The Get Go - Local grocery store
Cactus Liquors - New liquor store with an extensive mezcal and tequila selection.
